Kellaprince Properties was founded in 1986 when two competing agencies—F T Kellar & Co and Princeton Rock Properties—merged in Barberton, Mpumalanga. The name “Kellaprince” combines “Kella” from F T Kellar & Co and “Prince” from Princeton Rock Properties.
The original founders were Keith Kellar, Navarre de Villiers, and Sally Muntingh. Although Kellaprince took shape in the 1980s, its roots reach back to the late 1800s, when Keith Kellar’s grandfather started one of the first estate agencies in the Lowveld.
Kellaprince expanded to Nelspruit in 1990. In 1997, Navarre de Villiers and Joan Campbell sold their shares to Keith Kellar. Eric Todd then acquired a 50% stake in the company. The business moved to the Village Shopping Centre in 2000. Eric retired in 2007, selling his shares to long-serving team members Colin Potgieter and Coral Niemand. Coral later sold her shares to Derek Todd in 2009.
In 2010, Grant and Courtney Campbell joined Kellaprince to lead the residential department. Grant became a director and shareholder in 2013. Amanda de Lange joined in 2012 and became a shareholder and director the following year.
Courtney Campbell, who was an integral part of the residential team, sadly passed away in 2021. Derek Todd, whose involvement helped shape the direction of the company, passed away in 2024. Both left lasting legacies. The assets they contributed remain part of the business today.
The current ownership team consists of Keith Kellar, Grant Campbell, and Amanda de Lange.
